H00010 - Boardcare BN Refill Pack
Boardcare BN Test Reagent to determine the Base Number in fresh and used engine oil samples
Base Number (BN) measures the basic material present in the oil, and it is primarily applied to crankcase lubricating oil.
In the engine lubricating oil formulation, additives capable to provide alkalinity is included to neutralize potentially corrosive acids formed due to blow-by gases entering the crank case during combustion. Upon depletion of this reserve alkalinity in the in-service oil, corrosion from acid attack and elevated wear occurs in the engine.
The remedial measures to overcome the BN depletion is either change the entire oil charge or top-up with fresh oil, application of higher BN, apply the correct feed rate etc. Therefore, it is utmost important to know the correct BN value of the oil to take correct decisions at the right time to prevent the engine down time which lead into financial loss.
BN results obtained with Boardcare WB Vortex device and BN test reagent are very much comparable with the ASTM D2896 test result.

H00021 - Salt Reagent
Salt reagent is used in the Halides test with Saltesmo to optimize results. The purpose of this onboard test is to determine the type of water found in used oil. This reagent helps to separate salt from water-contaminated oil (if saltwater is present) and allows it to concentrate at the bottom of the test tube. The settled water/reagent mixture will provide an indication when using Saltesmo.

H00023 - Boardcare Oil Test Kit Plus (BN, Water, Salt, Spot)
Boardcare portable test kit specially designed for the onboard testing applications
Viscosity is an important property to assess the lubrication property of fluid lubricant. Boardcare viscousness test comparator uses a simple flow technique to assess instantly the viscosity of the in-service oil compared to the fresh oil of the same grade.
Water is a contaminant in the oil. In small amount water will be in the suspended form in oil. Water will separate out from the oil when the amount of water exceeds the ability of the oil to keep it in suspension. Two-in-one Boardcare test device is capable to test water content in oil from 300ppm onwards with good repeatability and it is comparable with the result of ASTM D6304 procedure B method.
Base number is a significant property of the engine lubricant. Knowledge of the correct value of BN in the engine oil helps to take the appropriate corrective actions like whether to change the current oil charge or top-up with fresh oil, optimize the feed rate etc. onboard. The same two-in-one Boardcare test device is well proved the result accuracy with extensive lab trials.

H00031 - Salt pads
For the contaminant water type identification as saline or non-saline SALTESMO provides an instant answer and it is very useful especially onboard when there is a contamination of in-service lubricants with water.
Colour reaction: SALTESMO reacts with chloride, bromide and iodide changing colour from red-brown to yellow. The size of the faded (yellow) circle is proportional to the total concentration of chloride, bromide and iodide.

H00052 - Boardcare Iron 2.0_Iron-in-Oil Refill Pack
When engine is operated under low load, cold corrosion can be occurred due to low exhaust temperatures.
Reason for hot corrosion is from high temperature.
Both of this corrosion can lead into liner wear. Frequent testing of scavenge drain oil onboard for the wear metal Iron content helps to take appropriate decisions and actions to protect the engine from catastrophic situations.
It was learned from many owners that scavenge drain oil test result of Iron from the shore lab and onboard is far off. Therefore, after extensive lab trials, Boardcare has come up with a test procedure and photometer which gives matching result at shore lab as well as onboard. Boardcare Iron test methodology helps to determine the Total Iron, Magnetizable Iron and Non magnetizable Iron in scavenge drain oil samples. Differentiating the magnetizable and non-magnetizable Iron content is helpful to know the abrasive and corrosive wear in the engine.

H00064 - Boardcare ComoStab Tester
The Boardcare CompStab tester is a versatile two-in-one device designed to measure fuel stability/compatibility and estimate insoluble/soot content in used engine oil. Monitoring fuel stability and compatibility, as per ASTM D4740, is crucial for bunker fuel oil management. These properties significantly impact storage, purifier operation, fuel injection, combustion efficiency, and overall engine performance.
The Boardcare CompStab tester is engineered to comply with the ASTM D4740 method, ensuring reliable results for the stability and compatibility of bunker fuels in onboard applications.
The dispersancy of in-service engine oil is evaluated using ASTM D7899. The engine oil blotter test serves as a screening method to estimate the insoluble content/soot suspended in the in-service engine oil, as well as the oil's ability to disperse these particulates. Extended oil drains or inefficient combustion can lead to abnormal soot deposition, which adversely affects both the lubricant and the engine's performance.

H00070 - Boardcare Total Chlorine Sensor Calibration Kit-compressed
The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments, adopted in 2004, aims to protect the marine environment by addressing the transfer of Harmful Aquatic Organisms and Pathogens through ships' ballast water and sediments. Alongside this focus, the convention and Vessel General Permit (VGP) regulations also encompass the control of chemical substances that may be generated by Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTSs).
Many BWTSs utilize chemical treatment methods for water disinfection, typically generating Total Residual Oxidants (TRO). Monitoring TRO levels and ensuring compliance with regulatory limits are crucial aspects of BWTS operation. Thus, maintaining TRO sensors is vital to obtaining accurate measurements of chlorine content and verifying the neutralization stage's effectiveness.
Our product, under the Boardcare brand, offers a maintenance kit specifically designed for TRO sensor calibration. Our reagents are compatible with various TRO sensor brands, and we recommend following the manufacturer's guidelines for calibration to ensure accurate and reliable operation of the BWTS within designated limits.
